Graduate Students

If you’re interested in working with the IRL Lab, please email Matt directly with the subject “Interested in Graduate Student Position”. You should include:

  • If you’re looking for a funded position or unfunded research collaboration
  • What project(s) or recent paper(s) interest you, and why
  • What relevant background experience you have
  • Your current CV

Note that I cannot admit students directly to the department. If you are not currently a U of A student but want to become one, I encourage you to apply and mention my name as a potential supervisor.

Undergraduate Students

If you’re interested in working with the IRL Lab, please email Matt directly with the subject “Interested in Undergraduate Student Position”. You should include:

  • If you’re looking for a funded position or unfunded research collaboration

  • List of relevant coursework/projects/skills
  • What you would hope to get out of the collaboration (e.g., a publication, general research experience, an increased understanding of a type of algorithm or approach, etc.)
